This course prepares students to take and pass all four of the official GED tests:

Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies.

IMPORTANT: You must make an appointment for a CASAS test after you have completed your registration form.

Requirement:
CASAS Pre Test -  You are required to take a placement test before we enroll you into the class.  This test is only administered in the office and last approximately 1 hour.  You will be asked to choose a date and time when you fill out the online registration.
CASAS Progress - You will be required to take a progress test approximately mid semester to monitor your progress.  This test is only administered in the office and last approximately an hour.
CASAS Post Test - You will be required to take an exit test towards the end of the semester to see your overall progress.  This test is only administered in the office and last approximately an hour.
 
*Failure to take any of these CASAS test will lead to the deactivation of your GED account*

ID Requirement: School policy requires new and returning students to show a photo ID to confirm identity. Please bring your ID to the main office after you complete your registration form.

GED® Testing

Eligibility Requirements
  1. Minimum of 18 years of age, or within 60 days of 18th birthday
  2. California resident
  3. Do not already hold a standard high school diploma
  4. Possess a current valid identification card, or government issued photo ID

Official GED® EXAM & Fees
Registration fees should be paid online at www.ged.com

EXAM SECTIONS LENGTH EXAM CONTENT
Test 1. LANGUAGE ARTS 150 minutes The ability to read closely, write clearly, and to edit.
Test 2. MATHEMATICS 115 minutes Quantitative problem solving, and algebraic problem solving.
Test 3. SCIENCE 90 minutes Life, Physical, Earth, and Space Science. 
Test 4. SOCIAL STUDIES 75 minutes US History, World History, Geography, Economics, Civics and Government.

 

How to Register
The registration process for the GED® test is now much simpler. Create your MyGED account at www.ged.com and you will be able to access a dashboard full of information about test preparation, scheduling, scoring, and college and career opportunities. When you are ready to schedule your tests, log in to your MyGED account, click "Start scheduling" complete the demographic questions, schedule one test or multiple tests at a time and pay for your appointment. You can also register for the exam by calling 1-877-EXAM-GED.
