CASAS Assessment
CASAS Assessment
CASAS - Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems - is the most widely used system for assessing adult basic reading, math, listening, writing, and speaking skills.
It is used at El Rancho Adult Education Center to help all potential students entering into adult literacy education, GED® preparation, or English as a Second Language discover their proper skill placement level and is required for all students before registering into their classes. CASAS tests assess a student's skill levels needed for success in the workplace, community, and family and establish measurable goals and learning outcomes.
CASAS Pre- and Post Tests
Monitoring instruction hours and pre/post testing of all adult education learners are federal and state requirement that allows agencies to be funded through performance goals and outcomes.
For further information or to make an appointment for CASAS pre-and post-testing, please call our office at 562.801-7710.
Assessment Accommodations
Adult learners with disabilities are responsible for requesting accommodations and for submitting documentation of their disability at the time of registration, program entry, or after diagnosis. Official learner records such as the Individual Education Plan (IEP) document the need to use accommodations. The documentation must show that the disability interferes with the learner’s ability to demonstrate performance on a standardized test. The information can come from a doctor’s report, a diagnostic assessment from a certified professional, and other clinical records. If no documentation is available please make an appointment with the counselor for support.
